Kanye West is back with his latest solo album “Yeezus” and once again he’s worked with Frank Ocean. The new album features vocals from Frank Ocean on the lead single “New Slaves” which was premiered around the globe on buildings earlier this month before being released today. Leading up to the Time 100 Gala, Frank Ocean stopped by to talk to Matt Lauer for the TODAY Show. Along with a handful of other guests, Frank was asked some questions and this is what he had to say for both.

When asked if there was a moment in his life that changed everything, Frank responded “When I fell in love. For the first time.” Matt Lauer then followed up with the question “What are you most proud of Frank?” to which he answers ”My Mother. Strongest person I know and the one I’ve seen in action be most selfless.”

Adding to Frank Ocean’s amazing run the last year or so is his recognition by Time magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world. This years cover is lead by Jay-Z, pictured above. Yoou can read a portion of what John Legend wrote about Frank Ocean below.

Frank is brilliant. The day I started writing with him, it was clear that he has a very interesting mind and a distinctive way of expressing himself. He was fearless and innately creative. You talk to some people in this business and you get the sense that they’re very focused on radio: what will be a hit or won’t be a hit. You never get that from Frank. The focus is on creating something that’s beautiful, that’s great art.
